    Re-issue of Atlantic Recordings album plus bonus tracks (12 to 25). Tracks 15 to 21 & 23 to 25 were previously unreleased. Tracks 1 to 12 recorded at American Studios, Memphis, 9/; final vocals recorded in New York/5(14).

    Jerry Wexler, president of Atlantic Records, heard "The Windmills of Your Mind" on the soundtrack of The Thomas Crown Affair and championed having Dusty Springfield record the song for her debut Atlantic album Dusty in Memphis, overcoming the singer's strong resistance; Springfield's friend and subsequent manager Vicki Wickham would allege.

    May 13,  · Dusty Springfield had such a divine voice and prove to us with this record that she could rival the greats in soul music at those times. Her performance and song/writing was top-notch. Tracks such as ""son of a preacher man"" and ""just a little lovin'"" are still amazing. But the deeper cuts of this album still hold its parts%(2).

    I've learned my lesson. Stay away from 4 Men with Beards. I own this LP as well as Rhino's "Summer of Love" Dusty Springfield - Dusty In Memphis.I have no doubt the Analogue Productions Dusty Springfield - Dusty In Memphis sounds great--I own several AP releases and they're all excellent (although I do not currently own AP's Dusty in Memphis.I would probably recommend AP's pressing for this album.
